False, GHub is mandatory with newer wheels but older ones doesnt needs GHub.
Older wheels works with Logitech Profiler like the very first day, they dont force older wheels/customers to use a new app that doesnt add anything new to the final experience
This feature came from game developers and not wheel manufacturers. I hope you are aware that this is just a preset in a game for the wheels sold in big numbers. The Simucube is recognized by the very same software feature. How would you achieve to center a wireless wheel btw???
What i simply dont understand is why so much effort is being put into this. There arent that many settings and is it really that hard to just read what they do or try them. Every wheel or sim i have has taken some learning to get it right. I understand wanting to make things easier for new buyers but i have a real hard time believing anyone is going to start sim racing and go right to a Simucube base. So far the ONLY real reason i have seen is because its easier on the dev side.
So you are now at the level of the pre G29 area?? And the profile app did the same and had overwolf and other stuff you canât get rid of. You donât have to use it but it is not removable
Amen! Exactly, too much fuss over no added value⌠just why??
Going forward, newer Logitechs after the Logitech G Pro Wireless will no longer support LGS.
Sorry but I canât understand your statement.
Im talking about Auto Centering Forces, and that checkboxin Logitech Profiler saying: âAllow Game to adjust settingsâ
Thats impossible right now with SC2 bases, just because Auto Centering Forces are deativated the very first time TD detects an incoming Signal from Game.
Some games, old games, obscure games like Mame emulators or the great offender, AM2 emulator with Sega arcade games, those games make use of auto-centering forces from steering wheel, not DI spring force nor Constant forces, so now they are unplayable.
Im unable to make an arcade Game cabinet with my SC2 Sport but can with a 100$ Logitech steering wheel, thats sad
Logitech G Hub is Logitechâs newer offering with a sleeker and more modern UI. G Hub currently only supports modern Logitech gaming devices and is in early access. It is actively being updated and is improving in reliability over time.
In 2021, itâs time to say goodbye to Logitech Gaming Software, newer Logitech products only support G Hub, and the software has gotten more reliable over time.
What is Logitech G Hub?
Logitech G Hub is a modern version of their gaming software, Logitech Gaming Software was developed in the early 2010âs. G Hub currently doesnât add any new functionality and currently only supports more recently released Logitech gear.
I donât want to voice my opinions here, as it wonât help. But just to say to Clay, what an absolute ignorant post. Having been much more than just being involved with SimuCUBE 1 and 2 from day 1, I cannot even begin to tell you how far off the mark that comment is.
Cheers,
Beano
I honestly donât see much future for Paddock : if we go past the online/offline discussion and we examine how paddock works as of now :
- it will become a closed circle in which â1st time usersâ will share their profiles without much communication between them about all other critical ingame settings needed to tune a dd
- for such reason, if the expectations of such customers were having a plug-and-play system that doesnât require any form of critical thinking on what you are actually doing with that, they wonât progress much further into their experience and Iâm afraid they will never learn how to proper extract all the sc2 potential; their experience will basically turn into a costant try and error between multiple (usually mediocre) profiles
- as we all know by now, td settings are usually only half of the equation for decent ffb, I tend to set up ffb ingame and lastly on td; also, if we consider sims like ac, rf2, ams1, gtr2 and lfs, then most of the work is done on text game files, not even into the game ui. there is no way this process of file edits can be communicated or shared through paddock.
- more experienced users will keep on rely on this very forum to discuss and share their ideas on ffb, as weâve always done, and wonât have any incentive on sharing profiles on paddock
- last thing : Iâm into the Facebook âSC2 ownersâ group, what I see on a daily basis are questions of newcomers asking for settings for this or that sim, whenever I see those posts I link them this forum and they thank me because they didnât even know it was a thing. maybe more publicity for that would go a long way for those guys.
Cool, I hope GD team can do the same and force Paddock to new hardware Devices, not to all devices
I donât limit bandwidth and donât use reconstruction filter whenever I can. I donât have to dampen adding friction or inertia till now. I reduce static force if that helps in rally. If that is ignorantâŚthe recon is from off to 8. The bandwidth from unlimited to 333? I use maximum 10 newton from my sport. In game is different. What is wrong with thatâŚis it better to use full torque and all filters? If yes, go on with it. I go a different way
I think you donât realize that I am supporting the paddock, cloud profiles Aso. Left alone means not to interfere too much with full torque and then using every filter to somehow going over a curb.
Dude if you are ok with such settings then good for youâŚ
This is a very good post and mostly reflect my view on it too. What have always differentiated Simucube 1/2 from the rest, was the fact that it catered for both the power-user, and newcomers alike.
It was brought to enthusiasts, by enthusiasts. It was dreamt up by enthusiasts, lots of blood, sweat and tears to get it to where it was. Now I guess it is all about moving to the next level, becoming dominant player in the global scheme, and indeed move to next tier in sales.
Easy to forget the enthusiasts in this race to the top, as after all, goals were reached, now those same enthusiasts can be moved aside and next goals can be set.
I am sad and very disappointed, as being in industrial environment with things moving to the cloud all the time sounds great in theory, I also see the frustration connectivity and other delays are causing for customers, to the extend that they simply move elsewhere.
But so it is, life goes on, KPIâs are set and have to be met. Maybe it is time I move on as well, talk to a few key-players and look at reinventing that which for the enthusiast is lost. Like Clay says, a few of us are relics from the old days, either we adjust and accept, or weâre left behind. Of course, it also creates opportunities, especially for those with some creative minds.
Never thought I would have to write this, extremely sad days and will miss this group of very special people. But yes, I recognise I am one of those old relics, sadly.
Cheers,
Beano
To add to this, as long time users will refrain from moving to Paddock, who will be testing and providing feedback on new filters and features only available in online version, CLAYREGAZZONI?
I think you totally misunderstood my post. I am 100% fully opposed to your view, not in agreement with it.
Damn I am speechless⌠that is very sad and scary⌠why Beano? Do I get it right that GD is planning to move away from power users? PerfectâŚ
Just the way things are moving is not for me as an enthusiast, to be honest, Mate. No big loss at all, I have served my purpose and there is a new direction Mika and the team is pursuing, I have not had any involvement now for a long time, probably been feeling like this for the past 18 months or so.
Mika best can answer the direction wrt cloud software and capabilities, I cannot say at all where power-users will end up, I have not recently heard of any move away towards much simpler settings like have been mentioned before, so I am not sure.
It still is the best hardware available by far, which has always set SC2 aside for me was the superior quality, but also the easy, powerful and extremely capable classic interface, without having to mess with cloud stuff.
Like said, I understand the need for differentiation and some of the technical reasons Mika mentioned earlier, but that is a step away from enthusiast stuff. Which makes sense if you want to go next level with your products.
But also, it forces me to either adapt (and left behind that tinkering-spirit which is partly why we have what we have in both SC1 and SC2) or go and seek another something to tinker with. Itâs a blessing, and a curse
The post above from Philip is something I would have never thought Iâd be reading. What a sad state of affairs.
Itâs safe to say that weâve not always seen eye to eye on certain things and Iâve even had a few good roastings from you but I do sincerely hope your decision can be reversed somehow and that you stick around for a long time to come.
Also, how the heck are people gonna fix their busted gear or get that perfect tune with your vast knowledge and experience no longer around
