Simucube 2 Discussion Thread

Thanks Tommi.

I know short as possible cabling is always advisable but I will need something longer, hence my question.

Do you foresee any problems with using a 3m usb cable if it is of good quality with ferrites attached?

Well, we were thinking to add/change the cable to a longer one, but even such (simple) change needs testing and at the time we did not have any extra time for testing. Also any change needs to be considered that how good quality cable it is and if not what sort of support cases are to be expected if not good enough quality in mass production, (such as random emi issues or random connection issues which might be difficult to pinpoint). Longer good quality cable should work. If my memory serves, USB standard is up to 5m, so 3m should work.

I understand the situation you are in. I’m sure testing such things eats up a lot of your valuable time.

I’ll be using a Ugreen cable which are shielded and have built in ferrite cores. I’ve used them in many cases previously and not had any issues with them.

I will swap back to the original 1.8m cable if I suspect any issues are being introduced.

Thanks for your help :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello guys, just wanted to report that my sc2 pro randomly changes the wheel position 360 degrees.
It happened a couple of times after i made some changes in the profiles page and clicked on Save setting to simucube.
Had it with rf2 and r3e so dont think its game related.

We are already investigating it. It should only happen when you save settings, though.

I’m planning on adding motion to the rig in the near future which will add quite some distance from the power bricks to the servo.

I plan to have the bricks in the floor and I want to make sure I have plenty of strain relief in those power cables.

Afternoon gents, could someone spare a moment to explain how the max force and wheel force should be set in iracing please.

Just machined this for one of my customers using the supplied adaptor it’s another option to mount a backside 70mm wheel or if the 70mm adaptor is left threaded you can use mount from the front using longer bolts @Andy

Could someone explain why the status light flashing in red?

Red flashing is indication of the High Torque Mode.

We hope to finish the user manual this week

I Had the same issue, put the USB direkt in the Motherboard.
Adminstrator starting the Software und than make the Wheel off and on.
That was by me

lol, those e stop switches should be timed switches, so they reset after 5 minutes or so

They were on that video at 3:53.

Perhaps reseller add on item. With cables so short, should be standard.

Cheers Nuke, you’re welcome, enjoy your wheel

@Andrew: I got my cable for the Ultimate from Digikey, as GD ran out when I got the Test-wheel, so it was easier just to order one directly.

So it might be a bit longer than the std ones, not sure…might be why you thought I had an extension…

How long are the std cables from the PSU to Simucube and PSU to power point? Would think 1.8m?

Also, I assume 2 PSUs draw power from 2 power sockets?
