Simucube 2 Discussion Thread

Thanks for pointing that out. They do indeed look like standalone, pre-made extensions to me.

According to the Meanwell specsheet, the cable from the power brick to the servo is 1 meter long which doesn’t give you a great deal of choice on where you can place the bricks.

I’m going to have to search for some good quality extensions like the ones shown in that video.

That’s barely long enough to touch the ground! Was hoping to zip the to the side of my rig or under the pedals with some cable routing but doesn’t sound long enough.

Actually, think it should be ok. If you have an 80/20 rig you should be able to ziptie the PSU to the uprights. Would be nicer to hide then under the pedals. If anyone know where to source extension cables it might be worth a look.

The cable from the PSU to the SC2 in Sport and Pro is 1m long, the AC mains cable is 2m long.

The DC cable in Ultimate is 2m long and the AC mains cable is 2m long.

Maybe better off getting the ultimate. Longer cable & more torque

Hello, everybody,

I have a big request for everyone. I used on my Simucube Pro an extension of Simlab which is 200 mm long. I have the problem that when I press the extension up and down I feel a slight play in the engine. To the right and left I don’t have this game. My question to all those who also use an extension is whether this is normal? I already used this extension on Mige and this game didn’t exist. I am in contact with Tomo but I would like to know if someone else has this problem as well. It’s not much but clearly noticeable and audible. Too much for a premium product. I would be very happy about help. I would love to drive so much

I could be crying right now. I wrote GD again this morning and they told me it was normal:

The very small play in shaft is normal for bearings. We wrote a blog post explaining it here:

It should not affect Force Feedback when driving.

We are glad to answer any other questions related to this issue.

What am I supposed to do? I don’t want to drive like that. it’s night you hear it you feel it. My steering wheel feels loose

You are not happy with the response or the play in the wheel?

I am almost certain there was very slight movement in my small mige shaft. Don’t have it any more so cannot check.

Exactly what I did with my monitor power bricks, much tidier than having them on the ground.

I am completely honest. At the Mige nothing moves and at the Simucube2 it moves up and down but not to the left and right

I was thinking of putting mine where your Asus boxes are but not sure if the cable is long enough.

Hmmm. That is terrible. Maybe post a video and see if others are experiencing similar?

I could be wrong about the mige, if there was very slight play it was not noticeable in any way. And certainly never during driving.

mige motors have zero play on the shaft… i’ve saw many of them and all had zero play

The servo motor bearings in these industrial servo motors are not really meant for shaft extensions without a separate load carrying bearing, so only short extensions are recommended.

I am sure that the Sport and Pro servos are just as good then in terms of build quality!!!

yes that is stupid. I asked Tomo extra before. And he told me that there is no problem with that

no doubt about that… for sure sc2 motor unit its also better

Also GD are renowned for quality so doubt they would cut corners or choose something not up to their high standards!

Have you got yours yet? How is it?

Think you need to post a video with and without the extension.

I wonder why the game is just up and down in the direction and not right and left? Quality or not here is something not good. I hope that I get another answer from Tomo and then I have to send it back. That does not make sense.
