SC2 Pro Lost (almost) all its force

Which FW did you downgrade to, did you try 2021.9 which is the last before major FW rewrite?

I can also say that if this is a firmware bug, we would have forums full of reports…

May be, but accidentally it happened after FW upgrade for OP.
Same as for @Robson, Simucube 2 pro losing ffb strength?

Wouldn’t hurt to try before sending unit in for RMA.

It cannot be due to firmware update - there are no permanent parameters in the device that would somehow corrupt from an update. All servo drive parameters (the drc file from Simucube 1 days) are always updated from the firmware binary on each device power-on. And the firmware binary is CRC32 checked.

Right now the one Im using this one:

2021.11 + hotfix
SC2 firmaware 1.3.1
TD version 1.3.2
Servo drive firmware 10831

I’m almost 100% I tried the 2021.9. Since I saw that downgrading was not helping I stopped trying any other TD + firmware combo. And seeing @Mika replied about this not being a firmware issue, not sure if worth trying.

It could be a coincidence that this happened after the update, but it’s weird that to happen in my point of view. I might do another test later today just to be sure and I will keep you guys posted.

In case you decide to try 2021.9 as it’s not as straightforward as newer versions.

Yeah, I’ve done exactly that for others version, @Andrew_WOT. I just did now again for 2021.9 and the same happened.

If I do not open TD and change the Overall Strength and save it again, the feedback is dead. If I do its alive again.

I mean, I can live with that and maybe there will be a miracle one day to solve this weird issue.

@Mika Do you think this is a problem that would be fixed if I send my base back? It doesnt seems to be a hardware issue in my pov. I have it for quite long time so not sure if this is even possible. And as I said, I can live with that haha Maybe prefer living with it than not having it for a month or something.

Appreciate all the help here, everyone

It might be a lot of hassle for you but if it were me in your position having tried everything you have up untill now, I would want to try testing the base on a different PC/laptop to see if it makes any difference to your results. That would rule out PC hardware or software issues at your end.

If it then did the same thing again I would then say it’s time to send the base in for RMA.

Maybe I read it wrong.
Do you have True Drive running or not when you drive?

Yes, I do have it opened.

Totally, @EsxPaul Make sense. I do not have another pc, because I work only with Macbook. Maybe I will ask a friend to check it out.

Now we come closer.
You are running the Simucube on a Macbook with Bootcamp or something?

No no! Im running in a separate PC, just for simracing

All good.
It sounded like this

haha thats my bad :joy:

We would first have to identify this being a software issue in the wheel base, and we typically do not take devices with software issues to service, as how would we know what is wrong?

It doesn’t matter. I have been using SC2 from alpha/beta days and never had issues with TD open or closed. Not sure where the guys get this notion that it must be one or other, or even things started in sequence.

Nonsense ideas, tbh. Having been using it in all sorts of modes, never had issues in this respect.

OP’s problem is something else like Mika says.

@Mika Does it makes sense for him to sent device diag report to you?

I do not think that the the debug log that can be downloaded from device contains anything relevant on this. Same answer regarding the debug log that True Drive application generates.

One thing that I would want to check, is that the maximum motor current parameter, that is visible in True Drive on one of the tabs, shows the expected amount of current. For Pro, it should be 22.5 A if I remember correctly.

I’ll put this here for reference.

Current

Ha, all good. It almost sounds like there is one parameter, ie motor current or %torque or something set to zero after restart, when he next opens device and adjust slider and safe, some value is written.
But like you say, almost impossible scenario.
