rFactor 2 and Simucube 2

Try lowering the Torque Bandwidth Limit to get rid of high-frequency vibrations. You can also try adding some inertia and friction.

By the way, I also drive the new 992 Carrera Cup and find it very enjoyable with my settings.

Thank you all for the answers. I think Iā€™ve found a solution. The problem seams to be related to the in-game ffb value. If I set the in-game to -100% and change the car multiplier I have the problem.
Instead if I leave the car multiplier to the maximum and lower the main ffb strength the problem seams to disappear.

Sc2 sport, VR

Just getting into rf2, havenā€™t touched it in a long time. The ffb is set to -50% in game, iit feels right, but just trying to understand it correctly. If I wanted to increase strength, I would go closer to 0 (zero) , or closer to -100?

Iā€™ve also been reading about custom .json files, does that make a big difference from the stock ones that come with rf2?

Closer to -100 , although you could let it -100 and decrease the specific ffb per car

By altering the json you could make some feel better but you could also make a lot feel worse. If you donā€™t have a specific problem i would suggest to not mess with it. But if have something that doesnā€™t work feel free fre to ask.

Thank you , for the help.

If you donā€™t mind , Iā€™ve seen it posted that ā€œffb resetā€ should be mapped to a wheel button , but I havenā€™t been able to find where to map that in game. Do you know what screen it is on ?

The first under hardware

Iā€™m not sure how I missed it , thank you .

Sorry to ask again: to increase the strength of FFB, I have to increase minus value? This is so illogical to me . So plus 100 is then very low/poor FFB? I watched 2 videos, and they have it all at plus 100. I just want to be sure, thanks!!

Some games have a checkbox to invert FFb, then rFactor has a slider with negative values to do the same.
But yes, you are right, if you use +100 the ffb will be very poor XD

That depends on the wheel base. 100 and -100 are basically the max value , but some wheels need to be set at positive and some at the negative value. If you set it the other way around the ffb will be inverted and you will instantly feel that it is set the wrong way. I personally leave this setting at the max value and only experiment with the carā€™s ffb value.

Tried it. So glad I did!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Does anybody has the time to answer a few questions?

Is it still needed to use modded JSON/other files?

How do I limit the steering wheel range, so that I donā€™t have to almost overcross hands?

How can I get a bit more FFB while centered, how can I narrow the area affected?

I didnā€™t have a big crash yet. What do you consider safe settings and how would you set it (to prevent broken fingers, and other minor injuries :bulb::hammer:)

Is there a superuser profile one should use? Especially for Formula Pro, Dallara Aso?

Suggestions for excellent DLC, like tracks and formula cars?
Thanks a lot!!!?!!!

PS: I was reading posts. But as I donā€™t know if I have to use modded files, I decided to ask

no, those were added to rFactor 2 already in 2019. They were needed in the very early days.

I find the rF2 SC2 presets work nicely, with little if any abrupt hard pull issues. Still, I choose to use a balanced strength approach with enough TD output (for me, about 15Nm) and about 70% rF2 gain / about 70% per-car ffb. Itā€™s very likely that some clipping will occur (at least with some cars) at 100% rF2 ffb output.

If you have any doubt that the existing rF2 controller preset (SC2 bases) are without issues, then I suggest deleting them and verify rF2 file integrity (Steam). That way you are sure to build a new controller profile using a clean slate. Then edit and save your new custom controller profile.

For recommended rotation, I still use 1440 degrees and let rF2 automatically set the per-car rotation. That works perfectly for me (On screen wheel matches rotation, too). Others seem to have good results with different rotation settings but, need to pay attention to the ā€œAutoā€ vs ā€œManualā€ rotation check box in rF2. If rF2 reports an error in per-car rotation settings, try changing the Auto / Manual setting.

Thanks a lot!!! Very nice and cool that you found the time. I just drove the simulation/game after a long period of AC, and I do like the FFB.
Itā€™s also fantastic to have all the options in the controller menus.
While reading your reply I thought ā€œso much/high torque amount and intense FFB settings?..wowā€. So I will start below those you provided. But it gives me a good indicator where to start from. Again, thanks!

Happy to help.

Hy guys, iā€™m using the SC2 Pro TD profile from S397ā€™s Devin and iā€™m pretty happy with it, with 25-30% per car in rf2. But with some cars (IE Oreca 07 at Watkins Glen) i feel a disturbing spring effect in fast corners. Itā€™s like a very strong spring fight me rotating the wheel. Any suggestion about TD changes or even some new profile?

Where is the profil sc2 of Devin ?

Is it just the combined downforce on the car + banked corners, loading the suspension? Would be realistic also.
