rFactor 2 and Simucube 2

did you download the json from mika for the pro ? you have to put it inside the controller folder of the rfactor2 and then in game options load that profile and then assign left right etc.

but make sure you use 900 dor on simucube bec mika set it 900 in that json.

Hi all - have followed all of the above - great idea to get the in game car steering rotation to set the SC2 rotation. Problem is the car settings are (for example) 540 degrees but the steering constantly sets at 270 degrees, i have tried this with numerous cars and still same issue - any ideas?

Upload your current controller.json somewhere and a pic of your simucube settings. And a pic of your ingame settings if possible.

Hello everyone, I just installed rfactor 2 and even though I try to configure it so that it is well assimilating all the information in this forum I can not find a way to get it, please there would be someone who in a summary and clear way is kind enough to provide me with the steps to follow to get a decent ffbb with simucube 2 PRO ?, thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for your help, especially to the people of Granite Devices !!!

The truth is that I do not quite understand how you can sell a product like this, with such a high price and advertising it as an incredible option without having it even finished, you make a great effort to buy an item like this and when you have it you do not even know why where to start, you have to squeeze your brain looking for configurations that never end up going well, besides the manufacturer does not give any recommendation in this regard, I understand that for such a project they would have to have things under control and not let it be the customers that have spent a lot of money who does their job, it would be normal to have a guide to the parameters to follow for each simulator to enjoy an investment of this type, as do other brands in the market that have sold the DD, you install it and it goes well in all simulators without having to spend hours and hours until you end up bored and leave it.

I guess you are a “plug and play guy”
SC2 is a finished product. They did not develop this DD for any game/sim specific to work 100% perfect out of the box. Do they advertise 100% support for rFactor2 for this instance or any other? No!
If you say this is unfinished product then it can be said about any FFB wheel ever produced. I had G27 for ages and there was some games that did not even recognize the wheel at start. In that case G27 was unfinished product!???
I think SC2 is is a huge step up from OSW where a lot was DIY, but if SC2 is still too complicated for some then go for Fanatec or even step away from DD’s…

SC2 have not sold it as an OSW, they have sold it as a commercial product that is also worth a lot of money and that one or expected to work without being a specialist in the subject.

FYI OSW existed long before SC2 so it is not comparable at the moment!
That would be the same if i bought a new car and but oh no it doesn’t come with driver’s license and knowledge of driving and laws…

That comparaparacion is not worth me, the correct thing would be to say that this is as if you buy a new car and you have to set up the engine to be able to start it.

Then i guess your SC2 is not working and you have to program your own software for the wheel in order to FFB to work at all…

@feli sorry to say man, but I think DD doesn’t suit you at this point.
you were looking for something with ffb presets for any sim without the need to tweak anythink except gain and effects? then maybe a CSW 2.5 would be better for your needs, because even the so called “plug and play” Podium needs quite a lot of tweaks in Fanalab.
there is no by definition such thing as a ready-to-play DD wheelbase, for the very simple reason that there aren’t currently on the market sims that are optimized for DD out of the box.
all of that to say, if you buy a DD, any DD, you accept the fact that some work must be done, this or you don’t buy a DD, but please don’t come here saying SC2 is an unfinished product.

All that you say I understand and it seems reasonable, what I want to say is that all that should be explained clearly when offering the product because nowhere on the page where it is offered does it say anything about it, it just says:
"Simucube 2 works with simulator games and reconstructs the authentic environment. Thanks to Simucube 2’s dedicated processor for motor control, and another processor for interfacing the PC simulator, the ultra low latency is stable and consistent. With Simucube’s award winning force reconstruction processing, ultra low latency mode and adjustable dynamic filters, the Driver can reach realism. "

First things first. You go here https://www.dropbox.com/s/vv68vz8g7gq7lyk/Simucube2_rfactor2_json_files_rev3.zip?dl=0
go to the right column and press direct download. It will download a zip folder with 3 files in it. You just unzip the one you need , simucube2pro.json since you have the pro.

Find the rfactor2 \steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\Controller folder that has all the json files for the other wheels and paste it in there

set your wheel for 900 degrees in simucube

and launch rfactor2

go to the settings -> controls and press load , find the Simucube2Pro and load it. After that you have to assign steer left , steer right , throttle , brake and everything else that you need. Make sure vehicle set is checked.

Then go at plugins/dificulty and make sure that at least steering help is off , i also have off braking , opposite , spin and some others . After you adjust those as well return to controls and do a save , give it a specific name and it will create a new json with the name that you gave at the controller folder. Backup it somewhere and enjoy your wheel. If something doesn’t feel right there are a lot of people here that can help you.

Anyway, I apologize if I have offended someone with this comment, it was not my intention, I just pretend that for those of us who are not specialists in these matters, they should be notified before entering this world and being lost.

Thank you very much for your help, I hope so and again apologize if someone has been offended with my comments.

And as for these modifications I have read, they are not necessary ??:
Hardness of the steering wheel stop: personal preference, how hard you want the steering wheel to stop when you turn the steering wheel to the maximum rotation of the car steering

Maximum default steering wheel: 1440

Maximum steering wheel rotation: false

Steering wheel range: do not touch this, this will change automatically when you drive different cars and change the range or steering ratio in the car configuration

Steering wheel software rotation: true

Start with the steps that i described. Get a feel of the ffb and then if you want to do some changes you can just get the backup of your json that you named and make a copy , rename it and do the changes that you please. Paste it in the same folder with the other controllers and load it to check. With this way you can always revert to your first backup as a reference.

But to answer your question. Mika has set the max rotation at 900 in the json. If you set your simucube at 900 it will be ok. But you can always set to 1440 in the json and then 1440 in simucube. The other settings that you wrote are set that way already.

Json can be edited with notepad or notepad++ . so you can easily doublecheck for yourself that the settings that you asked are set this way.
