I have that exactly same sound with large mige while phasing and think it is completely normal.
Mild sound during the phase search/initialization routine is completely normal. The routine uses relatively high current, which makes the motor coils vibrate on an audible frequency.
That sound is also giving me a resistance which I can feel in the game like a braking force.
This is a short video how it is in Assetto Corsa. Sorry for the bad quality and sound I only have a cellphone to record with.
If I should try to describe it, it feels and sounds like your are hitting the motor shaft with a hammer a very metallic sound.
whats the wheel rotation of that car ? are you hitting the end of the wheel rotation ? if you can now upload pictures from your settings in simucube all tabs and don’t forget bumstops and in game ofcourse. Although i doubt it has so small wheel rotation. Softlock for the game is disabled in the ini i told you? The same thing happens in iracing too ?
I don’t know I can’t view that list you gave me, I’m not a member of that forum. Should be 540 degree. I’m not hitting any endstop. It’s the same in both games, less in iRacing. I can tune out the large sound in the second video with Reconstruction filter in iRacing. I haven’t tried Reconstrution filter in Assetto Corsa. What I can’t get rid of is the small sound and braking forces that is very simular to what’s in the first video. That feeling is taking away all the small forces like road structure and the feel of the tyres because all I feel is that braking/grinding feel. I hope it makes it a bit more clear what’s going on.
I’m not allowed to post the link to my dropbox for the pictures, is there any other way for sharing them?
Thanks again for all help.
somethin very important, is the whole thing grounded (wall socket , the servo etc )? Send me a pm with the photos from all tabs , or a link . Can you also take some photos of the steering wheel and how it is attached to the servo? Recon filter 3 to 5 should be able to help with the sound in ac as well

Seems like I have earned some rights It’s grounded.
If you need something more don’t hasitate to ask
In simucube . Change bumpstop damping effect to 30. Reduce the overall strength to 9.5A . Set reconstruction filter to anything other than off (thats really important! try number 2 to 5)
For starters in ac set minimum force 0 . As i also told you , you have to disable softlock from the assetto corsa ini , just open the in with a text editor , find SOFT_LOCK and change Enabled=0 (thats a must because it is a feature that causes problems)
set simucube profile to 900 and ingame (you already have both) and please take one of the cars from the list above that has 900 degrees of rotation and check how it feels. if the strength of the car is too much please lower it with your keyboard using the " - " from your numpad or " + " to increase it. If you want to try other car , see the list with the rotation and change to that both in simucube conf and ingame. Just to give you an idea with 9.5A and 50gain most road cars would need to set it with keyboard at around 40 to 60
please also make sure that you haven’t changed anything in the file ff_post_process located in most likely C:\Users\Home\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg . Most people that had another wheel and tried lut , forget to change it back and that causes problems. It should look like this:
[HEADER]
VERSION=1
TYPE=GAMMA
ENABLED=0
[GAMMA]
VALUE=0.5
[LUT]
CURVE=crazy1.lut
now in iracing as i told you i am no expert but 70nm with 19A is a bit rough i think. Try in simucbue 9.5A , recon filter 2 to 5 , and set in game 10Nm or try simcube 13.4A and in game 15Nm . Try those until someone with more knowledge in Iracing comes to the rescue.
I tried what you said in Assetto Corsa and I’m now close to what I feel in iracing it’s a bit more rattling compered to iracing. I tried the setting you suggested for iracing as well and all I got was massive clipping with no ffb at all
After all I still have the same issues as before.
Thanks for all the effort and help.
so basically ac is getting better , correct ? dont forget that when you enter in a race/practice etc with a car you have not taken before , specific car ffb will be 100 . you need to drop it until it gets to the point that you are happy by pressing: the minus - key from your keyboard numpad (sorry that i keep telling the same thing)
in iracing you get massive clipping because the setting i gave you is 1:1 . Try 18A in simcube and ingame ~40.22Nm , it should be better.
Yes AC is better, now I can at least drive the car Thanks a lot
I will try that in iRacing.
Any ide of what is causing that humming sound braking force in the game? What I have figure out so far is that most people have that on startup of the large Mige and it’s “normal”. None of my friends have it in game though like I have it.
once again thanks a lot for your effort
i believe that if you had sincos encoder or biss c you would be better. It is just a guess though , because we already have sincos , we did not test the big mige with a 40000cpr encoder. i may be wrong though and the problem is something else.
Ok, so you don’t think that there is something wrong with it (broken)?
There is always that possibility. Renew the photos and ini with only the new ones that show your new settings , ingame of both games and of simucube again all tabs please. If you can with the help of one more , record a video when you drive to showcase the problem and not just parked.
I will do that later tonight
I have finelly found a way to simulate what I feel in the game.
in SimuCube other filters turn up friction filter to something like 8-10% and gently turn the wheel, that humming sound and feel is what I alwas have even without any filter settings active.
It’s worse in Assetto corsa (more rattling and a stronger humming feeling. I got it even with very light force feedback like 9.5A and 40-50Nm in iracing and 30% keypad - + in AC. Even with reconstrution on 2-5.
There is definitely somethin going wrong , but i cannot seem to be able to help you find it. Get in contact with the vendor as soon as possible and wait for more answers. If something comes in mind i will definetely post here.
Ok I will. Thanks a lot for all your help
You could run the wizard in simucube Configure Motor, Encoder, and Centerpoint button . Give it a try and retest. Just use the default options and follow onscreen guidance .
I think it look like a positioning error. If running the wizard doesn’t fix it , how about rechecking your wiring from the servo to the drive
When you fix it can you explain what was the problem?
