Assetto Corsa Competizione and Simucube 2

there are a lot of vibrations going in straights, yesterday i tried everything, even running td without any filter at all - direct inputs too - tried with 333,222 and 111hz, tried with dynamic damping at zero - i always use road effect at zero - but makes no difference at all. even more strange is the fact that it just affects some cars like the porsche 2019, the lambo evo, and not others…
so yes, we basically lost 2 sims in 1 week, r3e and now acc. great times guys.

It’s the road surface effect, turn it down in the main menu, adjustment when on track makes no difference.

like i said, i always had it at zero. from the release.

Porsche here also.I got it dialed the way I wanted, and now It’s awful. I can tolerare it with headphones on, but it’s not ideal. Road surface at 0% and no setting in TD seemed to help

i hate to say this, but it seems to me more and more sims are being optimized for the direct competitor in the dd market, from what i hear r3e and acc feels great in the other dd.
so like i said i really hate to say this, you can’t imagine how much, but since i am always jumping from one sim to another, i am considering what to do in the next few months, i might become the first to go from sc2 to the competitor.
i am a huge simucube supporter, always had been, but seems to me most sims doesn’t give a damn sh*t about that system.
it wasn’t in my plans to spend that amount of money to be able to play just 3 sims, you know.

I can understand you feeling this way. I’m beginning to feel the same.

I know it probably isn’t the case but it feels as if the Simucube isn’t even considered when current game makers are designing/implementing updates. I go and look over at the Sector 3 forums for example and they have a dedicated settings thread just for the competitors servo. When you try to find information and guidance for Simucube, shoulders get shrugged

Feels like we are in a niche of a niche at the moment.

I can’t understand why it would make much difference whether you’re using a SC2 or Fanatec DD? They’re not that different in terms of tech, how can they optimise for one and not the other? Trying to get my head around it as I only play iRacing but have thought about trying ACC again (refunded it months ago).

I am not sure they are that similar, but that’s a good question indeed.

Sorry, I have the memory span of a Nat!

Wow! That is interesting and if true maybe SC2 may die a slow death. Fanatec seem like they have a large marketing budget so who knows.

ACC early access with SC1 for me felt fantastic. Later releases not so much and was finally making some progress with SC2 Pro and v1.1 but now looks like everything has changed again.

I’m friends with a guy at Fanatec and was chatting on discord with him a couple of nights ago. From what he was saying the latest firmware was an attempt to remove their heavily filtered signal (like the Bodnar SS2) and allow users the same kind of raw feel we can get from our SC2’s if desired. I’m surprised Fanatec users aren’t complaining about the ACC update too, it’s weird.

if only they would have a better qr system, I would seriously consider making the change, also because I would be able to use all my wheels with the adapter.

Don’t do that yet, it’s a downgrade and that’s a fact

Isn’t their podium qr supposed to be better?

SC2 is a superior product in term of quality and R&D I feel. I know people with the other mainstream DD wheels. I am happy with the SC2 but it just feels like I am forever tweaking the wheel settings.

why is my sc2 sport listed with that device id in acc :
Annotazione%202019-12-18%20220124
and not like this (as it should be) :
Annotazione%202019-12-18%20220226

What might have helped Fanatec DD alot is the possibility to put it in a ”V2.5 compatible” mode. Think this makes it more compatible with old/other titles.

I only play iracing so really dont care ATM but its not a good thing where this is heading…

Automobilista 2 is just around the corner and would love try that out. They had great FFB in the first title.

I’m also contemplating a switch back to Fanatec due to the support it appears Fanatec are getting in the development community. It’s the VHS vs Beta Max story between these two. Let’s hope Simucube can better establish themselves with sim developers. Also I’m hoping some wheel makers adopt the SC2 wireless. It’s very limited currently.

I’m just watching Aris live streaming now. Guess which servo he is using…

These recent game updates seem to be more focused and optimised for particular wheelbases because they managed to get them into the developers hands. That’s my assumption.

osw-simucube1 gen is on the market since some years now…i really doubt the situation will change.
