Tried installing the 0.9.3 onto my SimuCUBE but am running into an issue it seems. After the firmware update I restarted the config tool and get the following error:
It seems that the automatic IONI firmware update has failed.
Connect to IONI via Granity and update its firmware manually to the latest stable version.
And also this is on the list of things to re-test, as there has been quite a few changes in both the IONI firmware and also the SimuCUBE firmware. I will package the new IONI firmware to the SimuCUBE firmware soon, so the automatic update should work out-of-the-box as well.
Would running the 0.8.3 config tool first make a difference? I started that to see what it would say and it states the firmware is too old and must be updated.
These old versions are very buggy, I would not recommend trying to use them at all.
Just to re-iterate, it is the firmware itself that tries to do the IONI firmware update. Changing to older version of the configuration tool does not make a difference.
If you want to try with earlier version to see if there is any difference, I would suggest trying to connect via Granity first, to see if Granity finds the IONI at bus address 1 or 255. If it finds it at 255, it means that a firmware update has been attempted, but its has failed, and that manual update is absolutely required.
Then, if Granity does find IONI at bus address 1, you can try to flash old version, starting with DFU mode & DfuSeDemo & full device format.
Thanks, that worked!
Can you also say which mode IONI was in?
I have nothing to complain at all, great work Mika!
0.92 with ioni 1.70 is just perfect with the Lenze.
As Martin said, this is the best Simucube yet as it is!
1.7.0 is a huge leap if you come from 1.6.1.
Sound Comparison with TBW Unlimited while turning the wheel
recorded back to back @ same distance with rode nt-usb mic
Also you can hear the usb cord moving a bit in 1.7.0 its more obvious.
since 1.6.1 you barely notice it because of how insanely loud it was
Also FFB is better on 1.7.0 compared to 1.6.1. with tbw unlimited its even a bigger step, so much smoother ffb than anything before
Sorry for the late reaction, missed this one last evening. I’m afraid I didn’t make a note of that… Is there any way to find it out now?
So when you connected to IONI in Granity, did it ask you to update firmware, or did it just appear to be like a normal connection?
No, it did not ask me to update. I used the “install firmware” button to install the latest version (1.7.0).
Miss read something .
