SimuCUBE Open Source Firmware Development Update Thread 2

Upgrade also caused me to lose Granity connection, wont find the bus now, unable to connect

Do you use arduino on simhub?

no just connected cube and computer and it will not locate drive on any com

You are clicking the Enable IONI Configuration Mode button?

Any chance for a Simucube debug event log when you can’t connect?

Upgraded from 0.50.4, no problems, existing profile continues to work well. Thanks for the efforts!

I think I may have had a bad download? I re-downloaded and re ran the updater and low and behold it connected?

I had the motor behind a hub and on a PCIE USB card, I removed both from the machine and connected directly, re ran the firmware and it connected.

Interestingly when I first updated, Windows reported USB was not recognized, and the device manager showed USB device failed to initialize. Short of the above I could not get the system to be recognized.

All is well that ends well, working now and ran a few laps, no problems.

Thanks for response and update once again.

Updated without any problems.

Tested it in rF2 and it works great! Thanks!

Updated. May be placebo, but I feel iRacing better.

Thanks for all your hard work Mika

after updating I restart Simucube 1.0.22 and the screen loads and I see the following message in Green at the bottom “Setting up to date in permanent memory” and the program closes.

Suggestions?

You come from version 0.50.4?

Unfortunate that this has happened. Which version did you update from? Was the system working just before you updated?

I think the best step forward is to use the dip switches to put the Simucube to Dfu mode and use Simucube_bootloader_and_reset_all_settings.dfu file. Then you will be able to install 1.0.22.

Also important is for us to repeat the issue, haven’t managed to find the cause for this yet.

Where the previous 0.50.4 simply wouldn’t run this one worked like a charm. Update was smooth and without problems. Tested it briefly in iRacing and didn’t run into any problems.

@Steve_Alexander I found a bug, you should get correct operation if you keep E-stop pressed in when you start the system. Then update to 1.0.23 version which will be released soon.

Hotfix 1.0.23 has now been released. Thanks for reporting these issues.

I may have to get some more comprehensive beta testers

I am really happy it wasn’t something I was doing! Thank you for fixing it so quickly.

I will update this evening and let you know.

Just to fill in the blanks, the system was fully functional. I could also recover from this by using a really old version which saw the firmware as out of date and would reinstall its firmware.

I went from 0.75 to .9 on up to 0.54. Each of those worked.

Well I upgraded to .23 within 2 laps in iRacing, FFB dropped out, Simucube disconnected? Switch off, switch on… 2-3 laps in another drop, wheel completely disconnected. This happened repeatedly over 5 or 6 tries with shutdowns and changing USB ports. Downgraded back to .9 then up to 11 and back to 54c that I was on originally, just ran 25 laps no issues… (No idea)
