@Mika I should have some time to test this weekend - if needed.
So what do you think, is it working?
difficult to say right now. Mostly yes. But I do not have possibility to mount the Mige on my rig for driving, so a test release will be out soon for those that can drive
I can drive
Hi!
Does the opensource firmware support absolute encoders (BiSS C)? And is the repository I found on the SimuCube github the right one (https://github.com/SimuCUBE/SimuCUBE-OpenSource-Firmware)?
The encoder support comes from the IONI servo drive and its firmware is not open source.
The repository is correct but very much outdated. We are intending to publish the next versionās code there.
Thanks for the answer! Does this means that the wheel position comes from the IONI over the smBus?
The encoder position does, yes. Wheel position is calculated based on that.
what do the Encoder A/B/C pins on the current code do then? Is this just legacy stuff?
Simucube processor can read the incremental encoder signals directly from the encoder. This was needed to get the 3rd-party MMOS firmware to work. However, our firmware never used those signals, but they are defined in the code.
Iām in the pit, waiting for test release.
Great workš
Yes, a number of bugs were debugged in the last days, but no test release yet. But #soon
Tero released a new IONI firmware yesterday. Those who want to test, please install that so that we can gain some more confidenseā¦
ioni 1.7.14 installed on
small mige biss-c 0.50.4
for raceroom and rfactor 2
the steering wheel is much more difficult to turn
the ffb is much stronger
very very big difference with version 1.7.10
I reinstalled version 1.7.10 and everything is back to normal
Was the difference maybe related to any of the filters? did you reboot the system after updating?
Yes I reboot after upgrade
I tried with sinwave at 0 but the ffb was still very hard
and the ffb was also very hard in rfactor 2 and I donāt use a directinput effect
Am I the only one having problems with this ioni 1.7.14?
I wanted to try the new IONI firmware but it always ended up into fault after upgrading & drive restart. ( Under Voltage fault while phasing )
I am on a Simucube board rev.2 (r005),
and running a small mige with encoder 40 000 cpr
reinstalling firmware 10710 went flawlessly.
Instruct me if you need more data or info on my hardware/software configuration in order to address the issue.
I updated the small mige with Biss-C and everything went well.
It really looks like it got heavier, but less oscillation and more smoothly.

it would help if you showed your DRC file or used the option at the Testing tab in Granity to copy device data to clipboard.
