What happens if I turn the pc off with high torque enabled but not the wheel?
The device will power off when USB power is lost.
Thx Mika,
after restarting the pc again do I have to power on the base manually ?
I really canât remember what the electronics does at that point.
I like this solution!
Today I suddenly had the fault again :480901
Re-releasing the e-stop fixed it.
Logs uploaded and available as txt file.
I like the torq option, looks like a very nice solution.
Do you need to start TD in order to apply your default profile? I was under the impression that this was not required
you will always need to have TD running in order to use the SC2.
[edit] sorry, wrong info! like Mika said, TD is only needed for High Torque mode enabling[/edit]
Thats not true, it is only needed to enable the high torque mode.
You can set the default profile the device loads at startup.
but if you want permanent high torque you have to run td, donât you?
Thatâs what I understood.
So with this new featute to âauto-enableâ hight torque, this will apply on SC start or on TD start. The former means TD is not required to start from this version
TD uses limited CPU resources
According to the comments above there will be a tray option in the next version, just start it with Windows.
And SC2 is unusable without high torque mode, therefore TD is always needed in order to use SC2.
With the upcoming update of TD, will it be possible to use SC2 without running TD? It would be awesome to run TD only when you want to change settings and not on each power on of SC2.
True Drive will be the thing that enables the high torque mode, also in the automatic mode.
will the actual behavior with automatic torque off and e-stop recycling still be available?
Yes, the automatic behavior must be manually enabled and it can also be disabled after enabling.
I have to say that I think GDâs SC2 User Guide falls short in some areas.
From my reading before I bought an SC2, I thought TD needed to be running to use the SC2. Then I discovered that you can close TD after SC2 startup and it still works, even after enabling High Torque (at least that seems to be the case for me). Itâs pretty clear that many people, not even âNoobiesâ are confused about this.
In fact, yesterday, while I was trying to resolve more problems getting Project Cars 2 controls to act properly (Getting âcrosstalkâ between pedals and SC2 AGAIN), I found that after pressing the SC2 Stop Button, I could still steer in-game (with no force feedback). So you CAN steer without FFB.
Another example is the TD âSave Settings to SCâ button. I press it when lit, and then it goes out, and I believe itâs done. Hold it, not the case! I then see a day later that it wasnât done, and the button came back on a couple seconds later. This probably caused some problems for me when I was a noobie. I learned to wait to see the text completely dim. This could be solved by increasing the âblink rateâ on the button, so itâs more obvious when itâs done saving.
Although I think GD is doing a great job of responding to questions here, Iâd suggest it may be time for GD to update the User Guide to answer and clarify many of the questions that have been raised and answered in the past months since SC2 sales began. Could save both Customers and GD time and frustration.
First, thanks for the tip with the e-stop cycling. This does the trick for now
Secondly, the new solution looks really great.
Iâve a small question though. Do you have to first power on the wheel and then start TD? Or does it also work if you start TD first and then power up the wheel.
Regards and thanks for the hard work and listening to your users.

Would people want to match wheel images by the wireless wheel MAC addresses? I think by name would be sufficient at least for nowâŚ
