SC 2 Pro Driver error

I’ve added ferritre surge isoluation to every cable. Still no luck.

I wonder if I have a fault unit?

Tired USB 2 and it was worse. :frowning:

I am no expert, that designation I leave to the GD boys but i think you have USB issues, if the system works perfectly with the motion turned off, then the unit is fine. Trick is finding the different controller for the motion and cube. I think if they are on the same controller your system is basically saying NO.

If you havent tried it already, leave perfectly working simucube in and move the motion to eash progressive usb port until it doesnt disconnect the cube ? If that doesnt work yo may need the pcie USB card to isolate the system.

on another thought is your moton running off a grounded plug ? (3 pin0 ?) sorry grasping at straws for you … its frustrating i am aware…

You could also delete all the controllers from the device manager and the let windows reinstall them, you are probably going to have to re enter the motion ports (they will change) and all you buttons for iracing again… start with having windows allocate the com ports with everything in… again … straws

THanks man will try these out.

@Mika I’m getting a 480701 error from time to time. But I cannot see this error decription on your website. Can you please let me know what this error is so I can try and fix this problem.
thanks

its an unrelated communications bug in the firmware. We are trying to fix it. It should not happen while driving.

Unrelated to what? It stops my wheel from working! This could well be the seat of my issue? Correct?

Nope, your issue is clearly related to the 4DOF system. The communications fault happens internal to the device and can be reset with the e-stop button.

I don’t think that’s call at all. The 4DoF worked fine before I got the SC2. And it works fine now without your DD. It is when the two play together that the issue arises.

The problem I have is the 4DoF people are blaming you; you are blaming them. And I’m stuck in the middle trying to sort the mess out!

Both products are great. The SC2 alone is an amazing DD.

But I need them to work well together.

So…

The DoF people has asked if there is USB scanning option as maybe your product scansall comports and tries to open the comport assigned to their product.

Hope that makes sense.

Appreciate any help you can provide here.

The True Drive software does not do any COM port scanning.

How is your system wired? Do you have grounded sockets? What make and model power supply does the 4DOF system have?

The DoF is a PT-Acturaor with an MBox system (Sim Racing Garage is reviewing it very soon).

It is grounded. And the sockts here in Australia are grounded.

Hi Clark are your power cables to your DOF shielded if not they can be the prob with your USB disconnecting ie EMI …had this problem with my SC1 then installed sheilded cables and problem solved…You could try wrap the power cables of your DOF in aluminium foil to see if it helps …that is the last thing i can think of…:grinning:

Will give this a try as a last chance hail mary before I try a reinstall of windows and start again!! :frowning:

hI Clarke …this must be driving you crazy…hope it helps …put foil on the power cables from the actuators to the power supply…good luck . on second thoughts just to be sure do all the cables from the actuators

over 3 days now and about 6 hours of sleep in 36 hours…LOL OCD’ing on the sucker big time!

So, just to make it clear, its a system that uses this? http://www.pt-actuator.com/proshow.asp?strID=156

The wiring diagram for that does not show any grounding for that controller. I wonder if it just a huge electrical noise generator to your rig.

Hi Mika i know the system hope he wraps the cables all the way to the power supply … last thing i could think of doing if it is usb disconnect problems when dof turned on maybe EMI . that is All i can think of doing in the short term . Regards denis

Yes that is te one!

The diagrams are bad yes - no grounding. But I have grounded it properly.

But you may well be right about it in general.

Are you suggesting wrapping tin foil on ALL the cables including the cables from the actuators themselves as well as the power cables?
