Project Cars 2 and Simucube 2

for over 500hours i used Hugo Vai ultimate pure feel with my thrustmaster T-GT but with my simucube 2 pro now, it’s really to grainy feel on some tracks like oulton park or Rouen les essarts. I would like te keep this ffb and take off this hard grainy feel but it doesn’t work well (even with fx at 0).

I’ve tried today Christian 1.06 dd ffb custom ans it seems to work better than Hugo ultimate pure feel but a little loose on center position.

i’m french, excuse me for langage mistakes (probably).

You can increase the Recon Filter by one or two. That should remove the grainy feeling.

oh thanks for this tip. i’m beginner with true drive and don’t know really how effect all these filters actually

Most titles don’t use “Direct Input Effects” except for some static feature (steering resistance when standing still, for example). You can usually ignore those settings but, they may be used in titles that are less Simulation based. When in doubt, you can try them set to 100%.

I suggest to focus on these settings:

  • Recon Filter - for overall smoothing adjustments, remove grainy effects
  • Friction - to remove looseness near center of steering (if it exists)
  • Damping - to control wheel speed, return to center, oscillation, bump response, etc.

Note: Applying too much of any of these (or combined) may adversely affect ffb detail.

i would like to thank you again for your tips morOSWer. My beloved Hugo Vaï ultimate ffb pure feel works well and great now. I’ve switched filter recon at 7 and hard grainy feel disappered.

i’m using Hugo Vai ultimate pure feel for a long now, but i always thought that “circuit buzzer” (i don’t know in english : vibrator may be ?), are too loud, to much bumpy and make hard noise on my sc2.
Somoene know which parameters i must modify in custom file to make them less higher, less harder, reduce vibrations effect ?

Has anyone been playing PC2 recently?

Considering it’s been over a year since the last post I’m going to guess no :joy:

I’ve seen a few recent videos giving a lot of praise for the PopsRacer FFB files and I’m feeling tempted to reinstall the game once more and give them a go.

pretty sure those files are tailored for thrustmaster/logitech wheels mate…

Karsten created a profile that I found to be excellent with PC2.

I had a check and the PopsRacer zip file has various options for low, mid and high end bases so it might be worth a try.

@morOSWer thank you for the file. I didn’t realise Karsten had worked on PC2! What he has manged to achieve with AMS2 is fantastic so I’m sure this will be a big upgrade.

Yeah, I agree. There may be a newer version available for PC2 but, I’m not sure where that could be accessed (PC2 forums?).

I need to get myself up to date and have a search for any new files that may be around. I haven’t played or given any thought to PC2 for 18 months or more and up to date with any developments.

From a quick search it seems there are FFB files from:

Christiaan
Hugo Vai
Jack Spade
Karsten
PopsRacer

I might spend some time working my way through them over the coming weekend. Thanks for the tip :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, plenty of options to try for sure. I’ve tried most at one point or another but, I prefer Karsten’s PC2 tune although, some annoying issues with PC2 keep me from spending much time with it. I do like much of the content it offers, though.

Very useful mate. After a 2yr break from PC2, mainly on Rfactor2 & Ams/Ams2 vr & now with fsr and this ffb file = amaziiinng!
Cheers from fellow sc2pro user :upside_down_face:

Good to go through the campaign again, something sorely missing in whole or part from other sims. In fact someone should do a random championship mode with random tracks, cars, conditions.
