So guys, is it worth buying while on sale or skip it?
I really like it, to me it’s better than DR2 and much much better than anything from Kylotonn.
If you are into rally it is absolutely worth it. Physics are quite good and believable and with the right settings FFB is a blast.
Is this title not so popular with real sim racing enthusiasts?.. Was surprised to see it on sale 50% off already, and after having trouble trying to setup my OSW (Simucube 1) wheel, even more surprised to see such little activity on this forum (only a couple of posts this year!). And then after an hour of googling I couldn’t find anything similar to the FFB issues I seem to be having with the game.
To the point…
I managed to map my various controllers, although I can’t seem to get it to detect my ‘Pico’ button box at all. But once driving, the FFB just feels super stiff, as though damping is turned up x10. I would just about say there is no FFB at all, but I could detect some small impact vibrations when impacting the scenery.
I used AndrewWOT’s Simucube and in game settings from above. I initially left Simucube strength at 100%, which normally seems to work well with most titles. (Where a lot of Simucube 2 users recommend 50%, 100% seems to be right for my older Simucube 1 due to it having 50% max torque of 12.86A vs Simucube 2, is this right??). I tried lowering this to 50% and even 30% - this reduced the ‘damping’ strength somewhat, but it still felt completely lifeless.
I saw a couple of reference near the top of this thread to editing this file:
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\EA SPORTS WRC\WRC\Content\input\Windows\devices\device_defines.xml
as per Dirt Rally 2. But the following lines already contained
Any advice before I request a refund?
Did you set DirectInput Friction and Spring to 0 in SC1?
WRC had a rough start, but seems to be recovering fine with patches. FFB especially on loose surfaces is pretty decent. Some say it’s a bit on arcadish side of handling, but so were all rally titles since RBR.
I too have been feeling this for a while. I know it’s an uphill battle for simucube, but over the lst few years of owning the pro 2 I’m wondering if I’m really getting the full amount of what I paid for. Sure the wheel base is incredible and with settings on the right engine, nothing comes closer, but how many times do we actually get that. Most games, including “serious racing titles”, don’t even have simucube 2 Pro in their release as a supported wheel. Since I like to race all kinds of games I find myself most of the time spending hours working with my wheel for adjustments to get feedback that is still crap from the game, or waiting for a patch to come out or program someone makes like in Forza to even be able to use the wheel. It’s like the companies don’t want to back simucube 2 at all. Even Moza that has recently hit the scene hard is having more ground in support for future titles. I had a friend with the thurstmaster wheel base you spoke of and for all the titles that were not supreme sim racing titles, the wheel out did it as it was developed with them in mind.
dont tell it but I have a fanatec clubsport DD+ on my second rig, compatible with any game.(byebye t818 )
