I was experiencing the same with my VRS base as well. What I did was change the passive USB hub the base was connecting to a powered one, and the VRS got much stronger. Didn’t try with the simu base, but I guess it was the same issue. Also plugging directly into PC instead of USB hub with long extension cables might help.
