Automobilista 2 - Simucube 2

I have the Simucube 2 Pro and I’m just using Default with 50% gain or lower depending on car. True Drive 20nm with recon at 4. I love the FFB and Physics. Every thing is so fast and detailed. It’s so objective but for me it works.

Hi to all Since the release of AMS2 the betas 1,2,3 the ffb was ok but not good…But now with beta 4,5 the ffb is very close to AMS1 which is very good…Please note i have only been testing with the F3car at Donington my settings are.
In TD for simucube PRO
Steering range 1080
Overall strength 100%
Recon filter2 @2200hz
Damping 10%
Friction 5%
Inertia 10%
Slew rate 0.10
Static Force off
Ultra Low Latency 10%

In game
File custom
Gain 45%
LFB 1
FX 2
Spring 2

These settings feel very good for ME, and i hope it helps some people here with base settings
Regards to All
Edit update . After more testing am now at FX 20 more road feel through the tyres

Still playing with FFB and still feels terrible to me. Either you have no feeling of rumble strip and steering resistance jerks the wheel out of my hand. Am I asking too much from AMS 2? I want it to feel close to what ACC stock settings feels like on my Simucube 2 Pro.

It’s jolty and spiky to me as well, definitely PCars DNA under, no smooth continuity in force feedback, like different effects badly stitched together.
Oscillation is horrible and SAT snap back is brutal. :frowning:

Sounds disappointing, as I feared it might be after watching the onboard videos out there.

If it doesn’t feel anything like ACC then I don’t think I’ll bother to even give it a try.

Well I just downloaded and give it a go this evening. Having never played PC1 or PC2 I don’t really know what to expect.

But it’s still early access and Reiza have a fairly strong fan base for a reason. I remember playing ACC when it was first released and comparing that to where it is now is a huge accomplishment.

So anything is possible.

Edit: Just spent 1.5hrs doing practice in the Lancer and Prototype and handling is WIP for sure. The graphics engine stands out and so does the number of tracks offered. (My 2cents worth)

so, first hour driving impressions : surely - and luckly - it is more towards ams1 than pc2.
ffb is still a wip I think, I am fairly sure it will improve a lot. one thing I am not sure about is this : the only direct input effect actually used is spring, same as pc2. I am trying to set it to various levels, hope to find the rigth balance. also, does it really runs at 720hz ffb? I tried setting recon to 1 but still feels a lot noisy. also setting latency below 10% makes the wheel feeling quite “empty”. anyone with some TD profiles?

I have it set up as this ATM:

But that’s only a baseline as I’m still not 100% happy with the FFB. For e.g. I would increase LFB a bit more because in my case it improves the feel with high down force cars through the fast corners but if I increase it any more it introduces oscillation. I tried increasing dampening or friction to counter that without any success.
Also if I manage to find a more or less good FFB for open wheeler it does not work for other cars and vise versa e.g. SuperV8, SCV8, Ultima. With these cars I experiencing jolts and spikes in forces in mid corner.
If I understood correctly Reiza has Simucube 2 Sport for testings as well so perhaps they will come up with some baseline settings for this base soon.

Would you might sharing your settings so that I could try them as well?

Anyway, ffb is not bad per se, I think the main issue Reiza must overcome is the physics implementation into Madness engine…I still feel hints of the self-correct rear, to the point it is quite impossible to loose and spin even an f1 v10 with cold tires…
also, the only direct input the sim uses is spring, which if activated makes the auto centering even worse.
Lastly : do the “driving aids” work as in rf2, so they need to be turned off because any car works with her tc/abs? And why the heck tc and abs are in % in tuning menu??

one more thing : what is the difference - if any - between default and custom ffb?

Cutom ffb setting is leftover from PC2. I don’t think there’s any difference between default and custom FFB unless you fiddle with the custom file. It is advised to use default profile at the moment.

Regarding TC, ABC in the tuning menu it’s temporary add should not have any effect if you’ve chosen Authentic aids.

As of DI once I’m playing Automobilista 2 none are being shown as active so I don’t think there’s any effect on FFB either.

All this information is in the Reiza sub-forum but I don’t know if everyone has access to it.

Thanks for the settings. I’ll try them out.

Have you tried SC, SV8 or Ultima yet? How do you find the FFB for those cars?

so, being testing a lot so far.
best cars : ultima race but in particular the street version for me is at ams1 standard, both ffb and physics, which gives me hope for future state of the sim.
I just drove nearly 20 laps on testing session with f1 v10 at suzuka, had a really great time.
below are my latest sc2 sport td settings, the best I got so far, just one important tip : I know it may sounds strange for any DD wheel, but setting LOW FORCE BOOST ingame at around 5 to 10% - with gain at 50/55% - can bring a lot of subtle nuances to the ffb that otherwise would be lost.
also, default ffb feels a lot less rough than custom - might be placebo though…
try and please tell me how you find those settings, maybe begin with the same car/track combo I just mentioned and the same ingame ffb values.

It is recommended to do axis assignments with the e-stop pressed, that also helps a lot…

Totally agree, the FFB feels very weird to me, almost like stock Forza ffb

Simucube 2 pro here.
I been trying all day to get it to work. I try to assign left and right and takes a couple of trys before it registers . Once on track the FFB feels like there is a spring holding me back after 90 degrees of turn or so.

I am using the default TD Automobilista settings .

Good Tip Mika, I wasn’t sure the inputs would still register in-game when the e-stop is enabled.

Is it safe to assume that’s also the case with SC1?

Yes, same applies to all games.
