Thank you very much it is very nice
Now i use this with Reconfilter 3 instead of 5 in the Truedrive Profil. Its only nuances and own preferences. If its too strong then reduce the gain ingame to 30-33. I think thats a good starting point. Mostly i use this with the P1 - P4 classes and all the Formula cars.
Anybody tried this custom profile, author claims it’s DD optimized.
NuScorpii and I did.
I think we both agree that Reiza’s own are better.
Specially the latest “new default” from today’s 0.8.7.1 version I think is the best of all so far.
I have to mention that to me the most important thing as a Simucube 2 user is to run the game at recon 0. Then slew rate limit at 0.2 seems very good. If rubber is preferred at expense of some detail then go all down to 0.1.
But it’s the recon 0 that is the secret sauce to me. Recon unf. seems to amplify the small details in the signal in some unfortunate way…
just a question, how can you not be bothered from the noisy, raw and “robotic” feel you get from any sim at recon 0? eg. in AC, I tried one time but that “dirty” signal coming through the wheel made me get back to my standard 2 (at least in AC). I don’t think it’s matter of rubber feeling, instead it is made to clean the raw, unfiltered signal you would get. off course, lower values are necessary, if not the ffb would be too washed out, but - as far as I know - the ffb fidelity you get from those motors would be lost for the most part by the noise you get with no recon filter.
by the way, I use 3 in ams2 and in rf2, 5 in iracing, and 2 in ac and acc because of the higher ffb rate.
it’s not a critic, i just want to know the reasons why you are using such a low recon.
Agree, post above doesn’t make much sense, may be some hardware problem.
hello it would be ok to take a screenshot, it would be easier … thanks
I normally would agree 100% to this and don’t run recon 0 anywhere else.
I was spending several hours one day some time ago trying to get the optimal feel from ams 2.
Before that was running it at recon maybe 3 or 4.
But I had not been satisfied because of a feeling of many small exaggerated jolts. Not in all cars but a few. Like the mcr s2000 on Guapore.
I was certain it was an ams 2 issue, but started playing around.
Finally tried recon 0, as I got a hunch recon was worsening things.
And to my surprise it worked for me. It took away the top of those unwanted jolts.
Then went to other cars and still recon 0 felt the best in this Sim. To me. I did not want the metallic/digital feel, so played with slew rate limit and at minimum it helped to get back to rubber feeling. At 0.2 the unit makes more noise, but getting more details and still not too metallic feeling.
(I am not 100% sure if the extra exaggerated jolt effect when using recon in this Sim comes bc of the way recon works or if this setup with recon 0 and low slew rate limit simply filtered them out from the game’s signal.)
As @NuScorpii posted he too thought it sounded wrong, but went ahead and tried it and to his surprise too he liked it.
But recon 1 is ok as reported by @NuScorpii as well. I just prefer the details from recon 0 in ONLY this Sim.
But it is also important to combine with good in-game settings to match.
Just so you have the full picture, here is appr. what I run:
Truedrive:
Force: ~13 nm
Recon 0
Slew rate limit try both 0.1 and 0.2.
Rest is as you prefer
In sim: 50/15/50
Compare against your current setup on Guapore in MCR S2000. I think that’s a good example for the difference I found.
Please do try this and post back what you think or maybe something better?
As I just posted I would normally agree.
But you will have to try it to see what I mean.
If you do, then please run it on Guapore in the MCR S2000 and compare with your current settings.
I would highly appreciate the feedback, since I don’t believe there’s a hardware issue, but would be nice to rule that out too.
HI Katoche,
But I did that for you some time ago already
Increase the truedrive force as you feel.
Also try adjusting slew rate limit to 0.2 instead of 0.1, to see if that is better for you maybe.
Also try @NuScorpii 's settings too, maybe they suit you better. They are posted further up this thread, below my posting.
thank you very much … it’s very nice
i’ve just downloaded AMS2 and cannot get the game to assign steering left and right! it constantly says multiple inputs were detected!!!
Possibly noisy input from something else? Try disconnecting your pedals, assign steering, close game, plugin pedals, assign pedals.
Assign pedals first.
Turn your wheel left or right to its maximum, then inmediately start returning to center. Dont hold the wheel turned
Andrew,
It seems our friend @NuScorpii has been playing further with it & posted this one over there:
I just tried it & this seems to actually be an improvement over the “new default”. Stronger center force is what I get running it & makes the cars feel more “real”.
Thanks @NuScorpii , liking it a lot!
Cheers
Interesting that you find it better on a DD wheel. It was just to fix the weak steering lock issue on lower end wheels and boost the output slightly to make up for whatever they did to reduce the output in New Default. Other the the steering lock and output strength it should be identical to New Default. Glad you like it anyway
@kledsen - Something else for you to try. Like you I feel like there needs to be something between Recon 1 and Recon 0 with low Slew Rate Limit. Recon 1 seems to lose something but using just Slew Rate Limit is a compromise between overly rubbery and too much vibration. So I tired with Recon 1 and reducing damping, which seemed to feel pretty good. Haven’t had much time this last week so haven’t had a go at tweaking it further but see what you think:
In game: Gain 35 / LFB 10 / FX 45
Thanks NuScorpii,
I will play with it a bit one of the next days when my time allows 8)
(I’m still amazed by the ffb of this game!)
I’m not sure what im doing wrong but all feedback im getting is bunch of vibration and cornerning feels like powersteering no feedback whatsoever. ive completely copied all of your settings… is this normal?
edit; I take it back it seems to work fine after putting type to default at FFB settings in-game
