I disabled my 3 & 3.1 within device manager and all good before and after reboot, whether in normal or dfu mode. Will try from bios also.
Something i noticed, why is it that within hid game controller, my wheel doesn’t respond to movement.
Right off the point, i have been working, wiring and programming automated machinery and robotics for near on 30 years and love a challenge. This is like being at work…and I’m not going down to a game controller.
Please power down and back on the SimuCUBE after disconnection and reconnection. There might be an issue in the firmware, and I found exactly the same symptoms.
Is there anything i should expect after powering down and back on ?
well, if the firmware is installed, which I think you said you have, then the wheel will start working in game controllers and in the configuration tool. Have you read the user guide at all?

Yeah i have, but which part in particular are you referring to at the moment ?
I will post 2 images in next 2 posts and show you where its at with all usb3 & 3.1 disabled in windows, not bios
So, there appears to be an issue in where SimuCUBE will still be visible in windows devices, but does not actually get anything sent successfully to the PC from the human interface device code, so the wheel is not updating in games / game controllers setup screens, and also the Configuration Tool shows always “Disconnected”.
This bug can be sometimes induced after being powered on for a long time, or by disconnecting/reconnecting SimuCUBE a few times.
Power cycling will restore normal operation again.
I’m in the process of fixing this issue, once I confirm that it is the right issue to be fixed or worked around.
ok…but my config is always showing its all good, as does devices, but this only when usb3 ports are disabled, otherwise I always have 2 unknown devices in device manager.
I also tried the total removal of stm32 bootloader device and it grabbed drivers, yet on reboot, it still brings up 2 unknown devices with usb 3 enabled…BUT… I havent tried that with usb3 disabled.
Give me a minute and i’ll let you know the results
So it appears in DFU mode when you enable USB 3? this is really strange, and should not be possible. I wish I had the same motherboard to play with…
Mika…
It sure does. With usb 3 enabled, it shows both modes as ok but 2 unknowns in device manager.
usb3 disabled…all good.
Removed stm32 bootloader with usb3 disabled, shut simucube down, restarted it and windows reinstalled drivers with no unknowns.
As soon as I goto enable usb3.1 host controllers, the unknown devices reappear.
Going to disable all usb 3 and 3.1 in bios and see where this goes.
Ok…after disabling all 3.1 controllers and ports, the same applies as if they are disabled in bios. Some usb 3 ports are enabled no matter what.
Thanks for the help Mika…muchly appreciated.
I have an older pc with z77 chip, which has 2 usb 3 ports that used to give me grief. Will try it on that to see if it replicates this issue. Keep you posted
Cheers
