SimuCUBE Open Source Firmware Development Update Thread 2

@Joe: I was just about to leave to the Melbourne airport yesterday, when I received an email to inform me due to Corona, my management decided to cancel next week’s global meeting.

So I am sitting at home, twiddling my thumbs :joy:

This trip will most likely be rescheduled to mid-summer (June) time-frame

Well isn’t that some SH*T!

It is crazy to me how much we have become dependant on China. I guess nobody ever analyzed the big “what if” when something goes wrong.

I fear soon it will start affecting our Sim racing suppliers.

Looks like all indexing modes will work, but things might go haywire if user goes to Granity and back, maybe we will disable resetting the center point without a full device reboot after that.

Let me know when you have something for me to test, I have bogeyman mounted and ready

It has 2.1M SinCos encoder, I also have Bogeyman2 with BiSS-C to test with… no rush, just when you’re ready to release some code on one test-monkey…

Yes better to do what ever you need to do so it does not go haywire.
A runaway servo can definitely turn into a very dangerous situation!!

Would people just need to go thru a full motor encoder configuration to solve the issue?

Thanks for your effort on this Mika!

Making great progress.

Need to add just one more command (restart IONI when exiting Granity).
Also, need to bring on any Qt 5.14 fixes.
Then maybe… public test?

I am ready for testing sc1 1.0

First testers will need to be experts that can use dfu modes and such fluently to recover bricked devices.

Also, just noticed that we still have not gotten the static force reduction filter in same develoment branch as new angle calc imlementation, so some way to go yet…

@Mika: Crazy Test Monkey is ready. Bogeyman too.

I will wait for a future beta version

You get the all clear yet, or are you still in Quarantine?

I will try to get my Sim room set back up soon so I can help.:grinning:

I can do testing on the bench now with a few different builds if that helps.
I have large and small Mige with Biss and small with 10k.
I still have some 2500,5k and 10k Mige encoders that can be used for testing.
Once it looks like everything is good to go with software upgrade I can also test AKM 52G with 4096ppr and Lenze if you like.
But I can not drive at the moment.

Still in quarantine, Joe, and feeling rather miserable. Results only in another 24 hours, seems they are so busy in the lab, they take 72 hours to process the samples.

I have pneumonia in my right lung, fortunately it’s one side only, so as soon as we know, they will give me antivirals to help with recovery.

But yeah, it’s tough-going at the moment, Mate, but appreciate you checking in  Very much hoping for a negative result though.

I guess it is a good thing they did not let you go to Finland and kept your But in OZ!!
I heard today that if all teams can not attend the Australia F1 race the race will not be official according to Russ Brawn.

Take care Bud!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Sir Beano. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanx Guys,
Whatever this is, it is quite terrible, now only hoping for quick recovery

But I will check in on forums anyway, hopefully guys will forgive me if I sound totally grumpy and miserable - or at least more than usual…

I am not forgiving you if you get GRUMPY!! LOL

Feel better soon, Phillip. I have my fingers crossed that your results will come back negative and you can get on the mend :slightly_smiling_face:

feel better phillip.
Best wishes

Get well!

Pneumonia sure is not fun :mask:
