SimuCube and SRB BB ULTRA connection

Hello,

Strange issue happening, but we are using 5 simulators at our SimAcademy, and all of them have SimuCube 2 Sport/Pro versions. All of them using SRB BB Ultra.

The problem is:
While on idle, or while driving, The SRB BB just turns off and turns on again. It can be any time.

We already tried:
Grounding simulator.
Changing battery for SRB BB to new one
Updating SimuCube Tuner (even got a new testing app from SimuCube itself, but that didn’t fix the issue)
Changing USB position on PC.
Changing usb cable.
Updating drivers for PC.
Checked Antennas.

Strange thing is, that all of the simulators show same in the logs: Low RSSI and the number can be from 8 to 25.

I don’t know what to do anymore and it really affect the user experience a lot. Especially in high rating races on iRacing…

Any help would be appreciated. Gemini seems can’t help…

Low RSSI detected is just an indicator for low signal strength, and “disconnected due to inactivity” is due to the wireless system-on-chip detecting that there is just no signal anymore.

Do you run any other 2.4 GHz radios on the same premises? Lots of wireless headsets, bluetooth keyboards and mice, and many wifi networks could make the situation worse. We have known that there might be issues in situations were 20+ rigs are used in the same room, but for sure 1-5 rigs have always worked fine even close to each other.

One additional thing to check is that the wheelbases have their antennas installed, and that the the antenna is not “freely spinning” which may already have caused twisted / broke internal antenna cable that would cause poor signal quality.

We are using Wireless Arctis nova 5 headset, also wireless keyboard and mouse. All of them use 2.4ghz too.

I moved the headset dongle’s to the back of the simulator, but it seems it didn’t help.

Antenna is not freely spinning, not sure about internal one. Connection quality is 100, so it’s very strange, that at the very random moments, wireless wheel decides to turn off.

Simulators have about 2-3 meters space from each other.

My question is - does the Simucube USB if it going together with power wiring, can make the wireless wheel turn off? We never lost feedback while wireless wheel turned off and on.

No, this shouldn’t affect just the wireless signal in any way. If anything, you would get USB disconnections in some situations if you do this type of tight cable bundling.
