Simucube 2 Pro, upgrade

Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum. I want to upgrade my wheelbase Simagic Alpha Ultimate, to SC2 Pro ( wheel too )
I have some questions about the SC2 Pro, maybe someone here who had / has both, can help.
Which one is louder? Simagic Alpha Ultimate or SC2 Pro?
Same FFB, same torque settings, etc.
Let’s say, both, FFB at 65 % and torque 100 % and everything else, about the same.
What about the temperatures?
Right now, I’m using the Simagic Alpha Ultimate ( with FX Pro wheel ) mounted on the desk, I have no room for a rig.
My desk is pretty heavy, about 75 kg, empty and with everything on it, including the monitor ( TV, 65 inches) it’s about 125 kg.
I have no issues with vibrations, shakes, etc.
So, if I get the SC2 Pro, I will have it mount it on the desk.
Could anyone please give more details about the Simagic Alpha Ultimate vs SC2 Pro ( noise and temperatures )?
Thank you in advance

What makes you think it will be an “upgrade”?
More like a side grade if not downgrade considering SC2 quick release design and proprietary BT wireless technology. Did you look at the new Alpha Evo series, btw?

EDIT: See if this discussion helps any

Thanks for your reply.
I don’t understand what you mean with
" considering SC2 quick release design and proprietary BT wireless technology "
Yes, Simagic Alpha Evo, would also be a great choice

Simple, Simagic has a better design for both with NRG style QR and through wheel hub power and data transfer.

Thank you so much. I’ll have to take a closer look at the Simagic Alpha Evo Pro reviews, comments.

check the review from Race Beyond Matter

Overview of both

The only thing I’m " concerned" is the torque
I have it mine on 23 nm, which is maximum.
The FFB is at 65 %.
Just did a short test. Reduced the torque from 23 to 18 ( 18 being the maximum torque on Evo Pro ) and it feels a bit weird.

you will not get the same feeling , it is a different motor.

Yes, but " torque is torque" no matter what wheelbase it is.
I’m not sure but I guess the Evo Pro torque at 18 nm is weaker than the Alpha Ultimate at 23 nm.
I wish I could get an answer from someone who upgraded from Alpha Ultimate to Evo Pro.
Thank you

torque is torque but the characteristics are not the same. my vrs wheel base is 20nm but if i lower it down to 17nm it doesn’t feel the same with my simucube 2 sport.

and don’t forget that the evo is 48v and the alpha u is 36v. I had tested the difference in simucube 1 with different psu and it is there.

48v vs 36v has something to do with the strength / power of the torque?
By the way, how do you like the VRS wheelbase? Do you own the SC2 Sport, too?
Thank you

the voltage affects the feeling , even if you set the same nm it will not feel the same.

vrs is good for it’s price , but being cheaper it has it’s quirks . i also have the 2 sport yes.

So, do you have 3 wheelbases?
VRS, SC2 Sport and Evo Pro?

i never said i had the evo pro. i also have a simucube 1 and t300rs

Thank you
One last question, I’m a bit confused.
Let’s say, I’m using my Alpha Ultimate FFB at 70 %
That’s about 16 nm
My setting for the Max Torque is all the way up, 100 % ( 23 nm )
In this case, is the max torque force, 23 nm or 70 % from the FFB setting, which is 16 nm ??

I think it’s even less than that.
SC2 does not have settings for force feedback gain, only max torque (amperage), unlike older MMOs.
So in your case its max ffb gain is limited to 70% of 23nm (16nm) and whatever in game FFB gain you have. If you have 50% gain in game it will around 8Nm.

Thanks a million, Andrew, but, are you sure, or just " I think " ??

There are two ways to control overall strength.

  • amperage to the motor (max possible torque)
  • ffb signal gain which can be set in game (if it supports it) or in wheelbase driver (SC2 lacks this option).

So final Nm is multiplication of
in_game_ffb_gain x in_driver_ffb_gain x amperage_max_torque
That’s just as much as I know.
Or you can ask Simagic for clarification.

BTW, why have you decided to “upgrade” from Ultimate, something inherently wrong with this model?
