Hey all,
Been trying to get LMUFFB working on my SC2 Pro and running into a wall. The app works great for other people running the same setup (you’ve probably seen Boothy streaming with it), but on my end the FFB is really notchy and grainy - and now I’m starting to think the issue might actually be the wheelbase itself, not the app.
The notchiness is there even without LMUFFB running. Just stock LMU FFB, driving slowly, turning the wheel left to right - I can feel distinct kicks/clicks through the wheel. LMUFFB seems to just make it more obvious.
What I’ve already tried:
- Multiple LMUFFB versions (latest, 0.7.71, etc.)
- Different in-game FFB settings, smoothing, etc.
- Both Tuner v3 and rolled back to TrueDrive
- Reverted firmware to older versions - no improvement
- Different USB ports (motherboard direct vs hub)
- Closed every other piece of software (SimHub, etc.)
- Same exact LMU/LMUFFB/Tuner setup as people who report no issues
Now here’s what I should probably mention. About a year ago I had an incident where the wheel got stuck/locked up - had to slap the emergency stop to get it to release. Right after that there was a faint burning smell from the base for a bit. It went away and the wheel seemed to work fine in everything I’d been playing, so I just kept using it and didn’t think much of it. But now I’m wondering if something inside got cooked and is contributing to what I’m feeling.
Attaching a video showing the notchiness at low speed.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar? Is there a way to test if the motor or electronics are degraded? And if it is hardware damage from that old incident, what are my options at this point?
