I am able to connect to granity software not problem by first enabling Ioni USB configuration in Simucube Configuration Tool.
I would, however like to be able to boot the Simucube straight into IONI configuration mode without first going through Simucube Configurator in order to be able to control the motor via SimpleMotionV2 on boot.
I have tried flipping the dip switches to both on and off but with no success yet.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
If you move both dip switches to the other position, the system will start in the STM32 bootloader (DFU mode) and in that mode, it is possible to connect to the IONI via Granity on the X4 USB port.
Other option would be to erase the Simucube microcontroller by emptying the it via DfuSeDemo in that mode and flashing just the Simucube Bootloader but not the the firmware itself, which will get flashed when you launch the Simucube Configuration Tool for the first time.
Third option is to force a firmware reflash via the Configuration Tool but then to interrupt that, and power off the system. On the next start it will also remain in the bootloader mode.
I can find out what needs to be done for the forced flash; I can’t remember what it was actually.
Hi Mika,
Thank you for the reply.
I have tried flipping both dip switches to both positions. In the first position I hear the initialisation tones from the motor and the other dip switch position I do not. I am assuming the position with no initialisation tones is the DFU mode but the IONI drive does not come up in the Granity software as a device.
I would ideally like to not erase or refresh anything if I don’t have to.
Any ideas on why it might not be showing up? Also I believe I did install the D2xxHelper and I also tried this on a Windows laptop in which the device does pop up in the list after enabling IONI Configuration mode from Simucube Configurator.
