SC2 Ultimate - resonates!

Hi all! There is such a problem on the Ultimate: for some reason the shaft resonates so much - but in general it works fine while driving, if I lower the power to 75% - the resonance disappears. Even during startup, it gives error 485001, but it is easily reset by pressing the emergency stop button. What kind of resonance is this and how to overcome it?)))

Which firmware release do you run on the device?

485001 fault is very surprising. Can you give a Debug Event Log from the device right after it has started up? It is available from the last tab in True Drive.

Unit resonates in and out of high torque mode…
But the resonance outside of the high torque mode is weaker, apparently due to power limitation.

The log didn’t show an instance of the error happening, so there was not any 485001 fault during that startup of the device.

Can you show your settings profile?

Nothing strange there either. Does the motor do the phase search routine on startup - the log file would seem to indicate that is does. Can you try to recalibrate the encoder via hitting CTRL-E in True Drive?

485001 fault is an illegal parameter write to servo drive. It is very unexpected to see this, I wonder which parameter it is…

I will try to replicate this soon. Basically only the motor maximum current value is something that, if written 0,could cause this.

I had a theory regarding a complete reset of the steering base or its software, but I connected it to a laptop - the symptoms are the same.

In general, while driving, the base behaves perfectly, but as soon as you take your hands off the steering wheel, this resonance begins. Perhaps this is caused by error 485001 - but as such, there seems to be no solution?

No, its not the cause, as 485001 is just an illegal parameter write and that will disable the servo drive.

The vibration is strange, as it seems to happen on quite solid rig. We’ve seen similar thing happening on some Sport and Pro units when there is no wheel attached or when the unit is started while not being installed anywhere rigidly.

I tested the rudder base securely using a TR160 cockpit with a TR ONE mount. I also checked qr and its attachment to the steering wheel - everything is set like a rock))

My ultimate resonates if i add friction to my settings. Low values are okay, but the higher it gets the more the wheel starts to resonate. Values over 5 leaves me with oscillation, and around 10 and more i can feel and see it resonating. Not the same problem, but maybe related to the one in this thread

I am using a simracingbay extension, but its just 8cm longer than the stock one. With a pse lm-x wheel and simucube qr.
