Are power outages bad for the wheel base in any way? Recently I’ve been getting frequent power outages in my apartment. Planning to get a UPS for this problem, but it’s already happened a few times.

Outages are not as much of a problem as surges.
If you get a UPS. Be sure it is enough Watts to power the base.
