Pausing the game when momentum/FFB on wheelbase?

Hi,

I just realized that I have a habit of pausing the game when crashing/messing up in WRC/dirt. Usually there is still some momentum/FFB on the wheelbase. I’ve done this with my first logitech and Simagic after that. Now after 35 hours with Simucube I started to think if this is okey for the wheelbase in long run, or can it damage it?

So my question is if its okey that there is still movement/FFB when I pause the game. Or if there should be zero FFB/Momentum when I pause the game and restart. Can I just pause and restart mid crash/speed, this just saves me so many seconds and minutes in a long run if its okey.

Pausing a sim does not damage the wheelbase.

Thank you Mika for the reply. So I thought, never have I heard about not to pause the game mid wheelbase and motor movement/FFB.

Was just worried that sudden stop of movement could be bad for the motor. I usually just pause it when the wheel still spins/there is motion or FFB, to save time from crashes.

Sometimes the movement is so rapid its easier to wait for the stop, to hit the buttons easier though.

It’s probably better to have e-stop button in easy to reach place that you can hit it instantly when uncontrollable spinning is happening, pausing game may or may not work depending on the title or circumstances.
Popular location is on inside of sim rig upright so you can hit it with your knee, don’t even need to take hands off the wheel.

Thanks, I wasn’t talking about the uncontrollable spinning. I have E-stop attached to my rig, used it couple times.

Instead my question was that in rally games there are so many crashes that its easier to just hit pause+restart, and not wait for the wheel to stop completely first. Makes it faster this way.

Crashing to trees or sliding out of the road still has wheel movement/FFB when pausing the game. That was my initial question, and I asume Mika covered it with the answer that its fine to do it this way. Havent seen any warnings in manuals about this and havent heard people talk about it.
