Would it be harmful for the encoder if it is 4 mm thick?
How many mm thickness should encoder adapters be
It wouldn’t be harmful BUT I don’t think it will allow the encoder to sit on the shaft properly and if you tighten it to the point that it will it will probably bend the mounting tabs on the encoder.
