I have been continuing with this issue for about 5 months now.
The Simucube 2 pro for two years has worked perfectly, but lately it has this strange behavior.
When I turn on the base from the rear switch, the base lights up with the green LED and then turns steady blue without activating the base though.
Other times it works perfectly, but other times I have to unplug the power cord to make it work.
Unfortunately this happens randomly and I don’t understand if it is a pc problem, motherboard compatibility etc… or some problem with the base.
I have tried changing cables, replacing usb ports…no dice.
Do you have any advice for me?
Small update.
I set the motherboard bios to continuously voltage the USB ports even when the PC is off. So I decided not to turn off the base from the rear switch but only by pressing the inserted e-stop button. In this way I notice that when I turn off the PC the base remains active (flashing blue-red LED) and at the next restart of the PC and the release of the e-stop it works perfectly.
