We currently are testing a CoolMuscle motor/controller. It uses rotary encoder for control of the motor, and has built in controller. We are driving a linear stage with a ballscrew, and are using linear encoder for positional accuracy. We have an external controller that reads the linear encoder and tells the motor controller to step. The linear encoder closes the loop but the speed of comms is too slow.
The Ioni controller offers encoder input.
We wish to use a small NEMA11 stepper under servo control.
Can the Ioni comm to a rotary encoder to allow the stepper to operate under servo control, plus a linear encoder to provide positional control?
