IONI Pro can't connect after Simucube update

Hi

A friend of mine recently bought the same kind of Simucube 1 kit with IONI pro, that I have.
It must have had a very old firmware version as none of the Simucube config tools worked with it. He updated the Simucube board to 1.0.50, the same version I’m using on my set. The configurator tool now recognizes the board, but the IONI drive can’t connect.

I did the research and proceeded to the recommendation of manually updating the IONI firmware using Granity software. Did " Enable IONI USB Configuration" in the Simucube tool, successfully connected to SimpleMotion serial COM port in Granity.

The part where we got stuck is the IONI couldn’t be found at any target drive address.

For reference, I did the exact same steps on my working system and the drive was found immediately.

Any help is appreciated.

One thing that popped into my head just now, is the Simucube board revision. Is it 1r004 or 1r005, or earlier?

There shouldn’t be more than a handful of earlier revisions out there, and the working of Simucube firmware of those units has not been tested by us since there were some component changes for actual production runs.
