I.r.o the clipping i have experienced exactly the opposite, so don’t know what to tell you on that. Nevertheless, if that works for you better and you like my settings, that’s good enough for me
Hi Panschoin, what i was trying to say by clipping was kind of not feeling of the finer detail. Anyways after turning down the TD over all strength to 50% 8.5 NM and raising the Gain to 65 I instantly started to feel the wheel slip & lock ect.
Still can’t really understand why as i had tried this before and also tried the TD default settings for games but had no feel. I’m running FX 60 and also don’t understand how some people manage to keep this down below 10 as i have no feel what so ever with out it raised.
Never the less i think now all that is left is just some fine tuning as now i can feel the road surface well and at least now my wheel is usable.
I’ve just done a few laps in Vr and the feel is starting to make a lot more sense.
Thanks for sharing your settings. I tried them with the Porsche Cup and turned the gain down to about 30. Drove Kyalami and the Nordschleife 24 circuit. I had a blast - and a workout. FFB is definitely subjective, but your settings got me in the right ballpark. Thanks again.
Cheer mate and Happy New Year! Good to know you that you like the settings. The gain in AMS2 is a weird thing and very car dependent, even for cars of the same category you might have to use very different values. For sure though when you find the right value, ffb is very satisfying and definitely a workout . Now since I posted these settings I made a few revisions which I think improved the feeling. If you are interested let me know so I can post them. Also, if you are into AC I recently fined tuned my settings there as well. Since it seems we might have more or less the same taste in ffb let me know if you want to share these as well.
That would be awesome. Going from the Fanatec CSW v2 to the SC2 Pro was a big step. I haven’t gotten a good handle on all the settings yet, so any help is welcome. Thanks and Happy New Year!
After the latest update, things definitely changed a bit. Some initial testing and settings (with GT1s) after the obligatory deletion of AMS2 folder, wheel calibration…etc
Gain 20-22
Low force boost 0
FX 5
Damping 0
Menu spring strength 0
In car gain 100-120
Edit: TD
So, really? I have to delete the AMS2 user folder again? And reconfigure all the controls, triple screen settings etc. again? This wannabe Sim (it is Simcade at best) is pissing me off more and more
I just did the same, didn’t take me more than 2 minutes, maybe even less.
I actually hadn’t erased the folder since a long time ago. I tried that now and honestly it didn’t make any difference in the FFB, but since Devs recommend this, there must be a reason… The only thing that bugs me is that I have now worse performance in VR, probably i missed a setting…
Mate i understand what you say, i got the SC2 pro 1,5 years ago coming from a G29. Since then i keep changing and trying settings and that’s the beauty of this wheel. As you get more familiar with the SC2 and feel more confident, your taste in ffb may change over time, you might want more strength, more responsiveness, finer detail, etc. You can do whatever you want… True Drive settings although are very important, you will realize with time that they will probably not differ drastically from one sim title to the other. I believe that the in-game settings play a bigger role.
Anyway, here are my latest settings. Now since they added the per car ffb gain with the latest update, it should be easier to find and save the settings you like for each car. Also, as the guys suggested earlier delete your Documents folder and start fresh with the setup (buttons, calibration, etc.)…
I will also post a bit later the settings for AC in the relevant topic.
Cheers!
Thanks again, man. I was driving the GT1 Porsche this morning at Spa and it really felt incredible. I set the in game gain to 50 for a start, then adjusted down for the car. So much fun! I’ll probably leave things as they are for a while and just get used to the feel in different cars. In the mean time, I’ll study up on the TD settings and start playing around if I feel the need. But I am so happy with the feel now - it was good before I tried your settings, but is great now. I also drove the Caterham Superlight at Silverstone and couldn’t stop grinning.
No worries mate, i am happy to have helped ! The latest settings are very similar to the previous ones so they will not change the overall feeling. I just think they are just a tiny bit better in communicating the road, weight transfer and counter-steering. I normally use the caterham 620R (all assists off) in Nordschleife to fine tune my settings as this car-track combo is quite demanding and super fun. I recommend spending some time there, its a blast especially if you are in VR.
That’s like driving my Mums Ford fiesta. Can you give us a more realistic setup to better resemble a race car feel. Thanks
I can guarantee you that these settings are nothing like your Mums fiesta. Either you didn’t copy them correctly, or there is an issue with your AMS2, or you used a low gain value. Also if you are looking for help and advice from the community, you should be more specific.
I followed your instruction and to be perfectly honest it was not for me. The wheel feels far to light. However I have never been able to dial in this game. Problem mostly is the lack of feel around the center of wheel and when going round a corner it feels like the nuts are loose on the wheel of the cars and the simucube 2 pro then just jumps back and forth and is undrivable. Any ideas would be great. Thanks
That is weird. After the latest update did you delete the documents AMS2 folder and started from the beginning? Secondly tell me which car you tried, the track and the gain you used.
Yes deleted AM 2 folder. Stared fresh True drive gain 82 In game 45 gain. Car GT1 Porsche 911-GT1-98 Track Nurburgring GP 2020.
Ok give me some time to check this and come back to you in a while.
